Glycogen is the stored sugar that out body uses for immediate energy. Since the human body can only store between 200 to 500 grams of glycogen, it is entirely possible & likely to burn all of those calories in a 60 – 90 minute session of intense exercise. Glycogen must be present to burn fat; if not available, your body converts muscle into glycogen. So it is important that we are continually replacing out stored energy throughout the day especially following your workout.

Larger meals raise blood sugar levels, triggering an increase in the release of insulin within the bloodstream. Insulin, in turn, tells your body to store excess calories as fat, rather than using them for energy.
